Privacy on Ziki

Did you know that you can select easily from whom you’d like to be contacted through your Ziki ?
Just click on the “Privacy” link in the side menu on the left!
Within four quick steps you can define your private sphere within Ziki.

Select

  • who’s allowed to send you messages via Ziki
  • who may see your list of contacts
  • to whom you’d like to show your own contact list
  • to whom you’d like to show people who added you to their network

You can perfectly personalize your level of privacy: just chose to show everything to everyone, share information with the Ziki community  only, just show it to your personal contacts or keep it secret for anyone.

Bug on image upload to your Ziki profile

As you might have noticed there is a small bug on the image upload to your Ziki profile. We are trying hard to make this function available as soon as possible. We are sorry for our weak reactivity on this problem but Olivier, our CTO, being out of office at the moment we are not as fast as usual.

Nevertheless, we hope that you enjoy Ziki!

Online visibility at Ziki

Ziki and search engine listings

Ziki offers you the possibility to sponsor your name as a keyword for free within the three most used search engines, i.e. Google, Yahoo! and MSN. Once you’ve agreed to accept Ziki’s free sponsoring offer, anyone who’ll search for your name on one of these sites will obtain a sponsored link to your Ziki profile on the first rank of her search results lists.

But that’s not all. Your name will also appear on Google’s, Yahoo’s and MSN’s affiliated sites. You’ll be visible through search results done on partner sites of the main search engines which increases significantly the number of incoming links to your personal Ziki profile.

Ziki and content network listings

Search engines always own an affiliates network. Affiliates try to monetize their traffic through pay-per-click advertisements that are relevant to the content of the pages that contain the ads.
With Google’s AdSense program, for instance, any webmaster can integrate pay-per-click advertisements into his website. These advertisements are generated automatically in order to be appropriate to the content of the site where they are showed. Yahoo! also owns its “Adsense” program (which is less automated than Google’s one, as it’s accessible for websites generating more than 500K page views per month only…). MSN does not have its own content network yet.

Ziki will publish ‘ads’ on your Ziki profile within all these content networks. If anyone is searching for your name on one of the partner pages of Google, Yahoo! or MSN, she will possibly find an ad link to your Ziki profile.
Content networks integrate all the big ‘traffic generators’ of the web. Yahoo!, for example, works with Eurosport, L’Equipe, Le Figaro, Skyrock, etc. Some of Google’s main partners are the New York Post Online Edition, Mac Publishing (Macworld.com, JavaWorld, LinuxWorld), HowStuffWorks…

For us the value-added of these content networks is still underestimated. For example, certain Ziki profiles have generated more than 1M ads showed and about 5K clicks in an one-month-period.

So if you have not activated the sponsoring option yet, what are you waiting for? Just click on the ‘Search engines listings’ link in the left side menu of your Ziki. It’s free and will significantly boost your online visibility!
