One month old!

Time flies! It’s been a month already since we launched Ziki People, and what a month! Very exciting indeed :-)

We hope you’ve been enjoying your Ziki experience so far and that you’ll be enjoying it even more as we roll out new stuff! We sure are working hard to get out as fast as we can the new features we’ve got in the pipe!

In the meantime, we’d like to share a few figures with you :

- To date there have been 1 655 who’ve registered and created Zikis.

- What’s impressed us most is that you’re coming from all over the world : 86 countries & 30 languages! That’s just great! To give you an idea, 23% come from the US, 18% from France, 14% from China, 5% from Japan, 4% from Germany, 4% from the UK and 3% from Italy.

Before you ask, yes, we’re definitely planning on translating our interface in as many languages as we can. So stay tuned, we’ll keep you posted on that!

- Now, what we’re also quite happy with is that you’ve been good at populating your Zikis :-)

  • 70% of the Zikis that have been created have at least one feed
  • All Zikis included, 2 802 feeds have been added
  • 62% of the Zikis have a picture
  • 50% have both a picture and at least one feed
  • All Zikis are tagged, with a total of 13 674 tags

We sure like those numbers!

So, all this is to say “Thanks, everyone, for your support”! And see you on Ziki

Share your maps on your Ziki!

Would you like to map your groups, your pictures or the visitors of your site and share them on your Ziki?

Some services actually help you do that and provide RSS feeds. Sharing your maps on your Ziki is as simple as adding your feed to it!

Here are a few of those services :

  • BlogFlux : provides visitor stats on google maps for your blog
  • Frappr : enables you to map your group and its members
  • Gvisit : tracks visitors to your website using google maps
  • Mapmix : gives a visual search tools to people that are online and looking for someone to talk to
  • Panoramio : helps you share and map your photos

Don’t hesitate to leave a comment if you’d like to recommend other mapping services supporting RSS!

Do you want people to contact you?

We’ve just added a new feature which allows you to publicly display your contact details. People whose attention got caught by your Ziki will know straight away how to get in touch with you!

To add your contact details to your Ziki, go to My Ziki, click on Edit my Ziki, then on “Contact me” on the topbar. Choose the mode in the dropdown menu (email, skype …) and type the corresponding address, ID or phone number in the box, then click “save”. Easy!

Reminder: Any contacts you add will show up on your public Ziki, so if you don’t want it public, don’t put it in!

To find another Ziki person’s contacts: In people, click on the person’s ‘black box” to get to his/her Ziki, then click on “contact” on the top bar.

We hope this helps Connect!
