Gather all your online profiles on your Ziki

How many online profiles do you have? Probably quite a few, maybe more than you can even remember! So, to make your life easier, we’ve just added a section called “other profiles”, where you can aggregate links to all of your social networking profiles. For example, you may add links to your Myspace, Yahoo, Friendster, Linkedin, Amazon or Ebay profiles.

To add your other online profiles to your Ziki, just log into your Ziki, click on Edit my Ziki and on “Other profiles”.

We’ve added this section so that your Ziki unites all the information that matters to you, and presents it in a organized manner : the content you publish on the web, your contact details, links to your other profiles, a brief description about yourself, your tags.

Your Ziki is your personal website, allowing you to manage your global online identity. You can use it as your single URL, so your friends don’t have to visit multiple websites to stay updated on your digital life.

Check out your content tag cloud on your Ziki

If you’re a blogger or publish and share content online , by creating your Ziki, you’re also building your personal search engine. Because soon you’ll be able to search through all the content you gather on your Ziki (your blog posts, flickr pictures, youtube videos, last.fm playlist etc).

We still have a bit of work to do before we can release the search function on your content, but we’re getting closer.:-) We now extract the tags of your content and display them on your Ziki.

So, if you log into your Ziki, click on “archives”, then on “Tagcloud” (on the black nav bar), you’ll see the tags of your content. Click on a tag and it’ll retrieve all the content archived on your Ziki that you tagged with the matching keyword. For the moment, you can not combine tags, but you’ll be able to at a later stage, when your Ziki is also your Personal Search Engine. Hang tight, we’ll keep you posted on that!

In the meantime, check out your tag cloud or any Ziki’s tag cloud to get a quick grasp of the content produced by its author.

Easily share your reading list on your Ziki

As we mentioned in a previous post, you can easily import your OPML file on your Ziki, to share your reading list with your friends and network, as well as people visiting your Ziki.

What’s new today is that we’ve made this feature much more useful, at least we think so :-)

So far, an OPML file has not been readable on someone’s Ziki. You could only download it and import it in your newsreader to find out the feeds the person had subscribed to. Now, when visiting someone’s Ziki (who has imported his OPML file) you can directly browse through the “feeds” part of his blogroll and know right away what he is reading on the web. And if you’re interested in some, but not all, of his feeds you can subscribe individually to those of interest to you. Just click on the orange icon in front of the feed to get the full URL.

Also, if the person organized her feeds in different categories in her newsreader, these categories are kept on her Ziki and are accessible via the drop down menu on the “browse” page under “blogroll”.

We hope you find this pretty useful, too :-) Don’t hesitate to comment on here if you’ve got any questions.
