An interview with Jon Gretar Borgthorsson

Yesterday we hit the thousand mark for registered members and we are thrilled!
On the occasion we did an interview with logo_zikiJon, our one thousandth member :-)

Ziki : Who are you and what are your hobbies?
logo_zikiJon : I am a 25 year old web programmer from Iceland. Among my interests are interface theories, RC Helicopter flying and researching new ways to make the world better.

Ziki : What is your business?
logo_zikiJon: I mostly develop internet web applications for various clients. I’m also developing the site web2.0interact.com which is a list of web 2.0 sites and how they communicate with each other. I will release that before the end of the month.

Ziki : What do you do on the Internet and what are your favorite online services?
logo_zikiJon: Much of my daily internet usage goes into forums, mailing lists and other communication. But my favorite web applications are digg.com, basecamphq.com and backpackit.com. Don’t know where my life would be without these.

Ziki : What do you blog about and why do you like blogging?
logo_zikiJon: I don’t much blog about myself except for major events. I am hoping to make more web development tutorials and tips. The blogging format is just the best way to get what you need to communicate to the rest of the world in a personal manner. You feel more connected to the writer of a blog than you do to someone writing an article in the paper.

Ziki : Why did you join Ziki and what are you expecting from our service.
logo_zikiJon: Ziki is by far the best social networking site available. It’s not the first but all others have complicated things, with all sorts of rules and over availability of features, that slow down how you use the service. Simplicity is the key to this like in most web applications. I want to know about other people with similar interests and hopefully be able to communicate with them and talk ideas.

Thanks Jon for answering our questions :-)
